There you are! You’ve found your way to hygge heaven or at least to our little place of inspiration for parents who wish to make the every day life just a little better.

Today, I’ll share my ideas on how to make your mornings, not perfect, but easier and hopefully a bit cosier.

Having lived a life where I’ve had to combine work life and mom life for more than 18 years, the number one lesson I’ve understood after a bit of struggling is very simple.

When your get out of your bed half an hour earlier than you use to, you’ll have a chance to wake up without stress and it even gives you time for a quick shower and to get dressed.

Afterwards you can focus on fixing breakfast and waking up the youngest family members unless they’re already up and jumping.

Rushing throughout the day just makes everyone stressed out and unhappy.

If it’s hard to get the children to eat anything in the morning, then take the time in the evening to decide what to eat for breakfast the following day.  It’s sometimes hard to make any decisions when you’re tired especially for the kids.

For a while I even set the table before going to bed in the evening to make it less stressful in the morning, but since our youngest is  6 years old now, it’s not an issue anymore.

Put on some nice, soft music or have a nice quiet time, if it’s attainable. No tv, cartoons and phone while eating. Just let the day begin in a blissful way.

If it’s still gloomy outside when you get up,  light a candle in the kitchen window or at the dining table.

By adjusting just a few things your mornings become joyful and not just something you have to survive.
