It's Friday and like most of us I have been looking forward to some days off with the family. Nice and cosy this weekend, not so many plans as the previous weekends. We can sleep in tomorrow and have brunch at home and just take it nice and easy.
Well, wait a minute. That's only half of the story. Yes, we will not have to rush out of the door to attend any meetings or go to school. But our youngest tends to wake up at 6.30 most days and eventhough he's a sweetheart and really kind, I know he gets hungry afte ra little while awake.
The brunch will happen and it's so cosy to sit and eat pancakes and zip a nice cup of coffee or tea. But it's an ongoing business, because our oldest boys are teenagers that love to sleep on Saturday mornings, so brunch turns into lunch and the kitchen is one open restaurant the whole day, unless we want to be the strict parents all time.
My friend Christina wrote an interesting article about perfection on social media in a local newspaper a little while back. Her article made me think, because when you look at my instagram and facebook feeds my life looks this
But this is just part of how life is like, the other part is more like this
The positive thing is that we have discarded so much stuff in recent years, so even though it's crazy in our home certain days, it's still a quick fix for most part. Except that laundry! It just piles up the whole time.
Life's messy at times and that's just fine, if you ask me. It would actually be boring otherwise, because the plates that pile up in the kitchen zink means we have shared a meal together. The toys all over the place equals kids have played and had fun. And all the laundry, well the positive side of it, even though I still find it difficult to manage, is that I'm a part of a family that means so the world to me.
When I founded the Cosy Club I committed myself to spread positive, comfy & cosy vibes, but that doesn't mean life is one perfect and clutterfree zone. So today I honor all imperfectly perfect hygge lovers and wish you a great weekend! Myself included by the way!
