It’s already the last month of the year. The day’s are really short, it’s dark outside when we leave for school and work and just as dark when we come home.
Whenever I get a chance, I go outside for a bit of light and fresh air during the day. It’s easier on weekends, but even on weekdays I try to prioritise a short walk in between work and meetings.
If you have been following my stories on instagram you may recall that I put quite a lot of time into planning family dinners this past Autumn.
Next step has been to get the kids more involved in cooking dinners. Especially our youngest as he has been way too much on Play Station, when we come home after a busy day.. It’s so much fun to see him all occupied cutting cucumbers for salads and setting the table instead of spending time in front of the screen.
Since we’ve started preparing dinners together the atmosphere is so much better at home. You guys with kids property know how difficult late afternoons with tired kids as parents can be, right? We prepare dinner much earlier now, before everyone is too tired. I try to plan for easy meals so the kids can participate without too much hassle.
The last weeks have also entailed a fantastic day trip to London with my long time friend Anne. She lived in London for many years before returning to Copenhagen and she knows all the nice places to visit. We started our day in notorious Notting Hill and ended it on Regent Street just in time to see all the beautiful lights.
amazing how a day away from all the routines just boosted my energy levels. Will definitely schedule more day trips in 2020.
